Hiking in
Aradena Gorge

The hiking trail of the Aradena gorge starts from the abandoned village of Aradena and ends up in the sea.

To get here, you will follow the road continues through Chora Sfakion, leading to the village of Anopolis and then to Aradena.

The road passes across the bridge of Aradena, which connects the two sides of the gorge, from where you will be able to see the deep and narrow gorge.

During summer, Bungee lovers, jump into the void of the gorge from this bridge.

To climb down to the bottom of the gorge, there is a paved trail on both sides of the gorge.

This is the path that the residents of the village had to traverse in order to leave or come to Aradena in the old times, when still there wasn't a bridge.

The length of the trail along the Aradena gorge, ending at Marmara beach, is 5.5 km and the degree of difficulty is moderate. It will take you about 2.5 hours to cross it.

  • Whether, after enjoying a swim at the beach, continue hiking the E4 trail part for about 3 km, up to Loutro. You will pass by the beaches of Lykos   1   and the old Phoenix   2  , before you end up in Loutro.
